Journey

Grace Morgan, born Grace Morgan Hammondge in Uganda, occupies a pivotal role in gospel music. Tracing his musical roots back to 1993 with his involvement in Voice in the Desert—a choir founded by his father, Frederick Ndaula—Morgan quickly nurtured his skills within the foundational arena of spiritual music. His artistic breakthrough arrived during the 2000s with the heartfelt anthem 'Lemera ku Mukama', cementing his reputation in Uganda’s vibrant gospel sector. Also a versatile songwriter, Morgan has contributed hits to the repertoires of notable artists such as Juliana Kanyomozi and Maureen Nantume. His songwriting cross-pollinates genres, as exemplified by the 2021 release 'Embeera', produced by Nessim Pan and performed with collaborators Levixone and featuring Eddy Kenzo. Beyond his solo endeavors, his collaborative and solo works fluidly combine different musical genres like Afrobeat, amapiano, and jazz, a genre fusion that not only showcases his adaptive versatility but underscores his commitment to faith-infused artistic expression. As an architect of sound and influence, Grace Morgan's contributions continue to reverberate across Uganda's musical and cultural vista, establishing his lasting legacy in both gospel and contemporary music spheres.
